Archives for the month of: May, 2013

I’ve been very disobedient of myself recently. I am meant to be saving up for the items on my wish list as well as saving for my holiday to Morocco at the end of August. Instead I have been demonstrating shockingly bad self control and spending all my hard earned monies. I think I have a spending addiction, and whilst on my latest spending binge I stumbled across British jewellery designer, Lottie Stone. I instantly fell in love with her collection, simple pieces featuring a rainbow of different colour semi-precious stones and when I found these earrings I knew I had to have them. I love the lime green set with the black and plan to get a lot of wear out of them, in hope of adding a pop of colour to my otherwise very dark outfits. I know it’s a little early to be making Christmas lists but when I do I’m sure several of Lottie Stone’s pieces will be included.

That’s it my exams are finished and as there is no project planning required during next week, my summer officially starts today! This also marks the end of my third year at university, leaving only my masters to complete next year, which is a pretty scary thought. However instead of worrying about the future, today I am off to celebrate the start of summer with course friends, burgers and beer (or most likely cider in my case). Have a nice day!

I love nail art. I’m obsessed with Wah Nails’ Instagram and constantly see different new ideas I want to try out. I saw this style of nail art a while ago in a post from xovain and thought what better time to try it out than while I’m meant to be revising for an exam in two days! So like the easily distracted student that I am, I put down my pens and picked up a nail brush. To create this look I used (from left to right); “Cloak and Dagger” from Topshop, Rimmel’s mattifying topcoat, and Barry M’s “Emerald Green“, which I picked up from Superdrug on my way home from work on a whim. To create the look I firstly painted a thin(ish) black line round the edges of my nails before covering with the matte top coat when dry. Once nice and matte, I filled in each nail with the emerald green, getting as near to the edges as possible, whilst still leaving a neat line of the black visible. You can watch a much more informative video of how to do these nails here, which is where I stole the idea from. Now I really have procrastinated from my revision enough and should get back to it, only one full day of revising left!

Summer is nearly here but there is still end of year exams to get through first. I am two exams down with one left to go, so I will probably be a little distracted as I try and ensure that I firmly understand everything that has been covered in my last module over the next week. But anyway before I disappear off, I thought I’d give you a glimpse of what I have been keeping by my side constantly over the last two weeks and what will stay with me for the next week as I turned the library into my home.

So in my little kit I have my pencil tin, full of pens, pencils, my special italic pen for headings when I’m making my notes, a calculator which I am not letting out of my sight as it would be devastating if I lost it, lip balm, tissues as everyone appears to be getting colds currently! Headphones, sunglasses just in case the sun is out during my walk to and from the library, my tin of hair bands and hair grips, a tiny deodorant that Fi bought me, to put me at ease, I don’t want to be one of the people who smell in the library! A bottle of Rescue Remedy, to add a few drops of to my water to put me at ease and lastly in the photo is my phone, in its Kate Spade case which hasn’t yet had a photo opportunity! Also when I go to the library I take with me my iPad, but couldn’t be photographed as I needed it to photograph all of these bits and the case is not as pretty as my phone’s one. But there we have it, my survival kit, along with a can of Red Bull here and there and plenty of snacks that is pretty much my life for now.

I’m hoping that after I’ve finished next Thursday I will have something more exciting to blog about than just what I am taking to the library with me, but we will have to wait and see.
