OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAHaving spent our first week travelling round Morocco, visiting Marrakech, Rabat and Casablanca, we took some time to pause and set up camp in a little apartment in a village just North of Agadir for some R&R. Here we spent our days by the pool or on the beach and our nights trying our luck as Moroccan chefs, by attempting to cook up tagines on our gas hob (normally tagines are cooked over coals, but we improvised). It was really nice to take time to stop and relax and to be able to spend some time in the sun, seeing as Summer in England is now over. We spent the best part of a week in our apartment, wandering into the village most nights to buy fresh vegetables and fruit. There was a shop which sold chicken in the village, though we only managed to catch it open once, it didn’t seem to open at the same time each day and not even the locals were sure what time he opened! Far too soon it was time for us to pack our rucksacks again and jump back on a coach (there are no trains linking Marrakech to the south of Morocco, so other than flying coaches were our only option) to Marrakech for one last day before our return flight home.
