OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAt the start of the month I drove to York to help my sister move into her new house, I hadn’t visited her since her birthday and she has helped me move several times before, so it was my turn to give her a helping hand. It was the same weekend that Tour de France passed through the city centre and so we wandered into town, stopping to look at the yellow bicycles and bunting scattered around.

20131229-185305.jpgThis Christmas period has been pretty hectic, I spent Christmas Day with my mum and siblings before spending the evening with my boyfriend’s family. On Boxing Day we headed to spend the day with my grandparents, returning on the 27th for me to go to work. Yesterday I celebrated Christmas with my dad and his family and then this morning I had a very early start to catch a 7am flight to Amsterdam

For next few days I am here in Amsterdam for the New Year with my boyfriend and his friends. I am sure the next few days are going to be just as hectic as we try to cram in as many tourist attractions as we can. I am looking forward going to taking lots of photos. This one I snapped on my phone on the way to the apartment. Now I am off to get ready to head out again tonight, take care!

On the last weekend of October my family and I boarded the train very early in the morning (8am on a Sunday shouldn’t be allowed even if the clocks have gone back!) and made the journey to York. We went there to go and see my younger sister who had just had her birthday and we were going to take her out for lunch. The trip was sadly very short, given the travel time, we only ended up having about four hours there before having to get a train back. But during those four hours we did manage to fit in lunch at the fanciest ASK restaurant I have ever seen. It was amazing, columns and chandeliers galore! After lunch we had a very quick walk to the cathedral before running (in the rain) to the train station. I haven’t got many photos of York but that just provides me with an excuse to go back and take more photos of the city someday.
